Almost a month ago (19th August) I lost my loving uncle, Dr. S. N. Moorthy (my mother’s brother). Even though he was 78, he was, both physically and mentally, very active till the day before his entry to the hospital for a minor hernia operation. His sudden demise was shock to all only because this was totally unexpected. What was supposed to be just a routine operation turned out to be a week long nightmare of post surgery complications which resulted in multiple-organ failure.
I could go on writing a long post on this episode but it wouldn’t change anything in this world surrounding myself and my family. My mother says that her brother has finally attained Moksha after life-long praying and spiritual-ness. My cousin(s) were sad though but (probably) didn’t shed even a tear because they accepted fate of their father - he is in God’s kingdom now. My aunt was glad that last November they celebrated 50 years of togetherness as a married couple. This November would’ve been 51 years ! Long time ? No, that’s an era !
This is the last photo taken of him (by his wife, my aunt) when he was alive, on the day of his operation, 5th August 2026 - have a close look at the photo - did he look sick at all ? He was absolutely upbeat and in a positive mood. His end was not what anyone, including the doctor, had in mind at all. This is what is called a tragic loss IMHO.
